Pray for new ministry opportunity

It has been a long time since I posted last.

Please pray for our family as I have been in contact with Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lake Wylie, SC about being their Children’s Pastor. We were introduced to the congregation last Sunday and they will be voting in the next few weeks. We are spending these weeks to get to know the congregation better.

This is a tough decision as I have been at College Park since 1981 (with exception of 2 yr gap in 1998-2000). College Park is where I grew up, got married, and had our three children – well, this was at the hospital but you know what I mean.

Through my prayers and studies, I really felt I was getting complacent in my ministry. It was the same old thing week in, week out. We should never get comfortable in ministry – we must always be on our toes for the next opportunity.

I am pleased with Pine Grove so far – our 13 yr old is looking at going to World Changers and our 8 yr old is thrilled that he can goto Celebration Station (not hard to please). Even the 2 yr old, Chandler, is breaking hearts. The nursery worker Wed night asked to take him home – I told her you haven’t got used to him yet. Be afraid!!!

I am thrilled for this opportunity.  I hope and pray that I can be a true shepherd to kids and their families.
