I am overjoyed today – you will see why below.

I am a father to three – 12,7, and 1. Our seven year old, Brayden, just completed the second grade. All of his life I have been sharing with him who is this man Jesus. Brayden was the one who, at age 3 and 4, knew exactly what the cross was for and went around church telling everyone.

Recently, I have been talking to Brayden about his life and salvation. I have been burdened about talking to him, even mentioning it to my wife as we prayed together for Brayden. Brayden’s view last week was a reflection of many churches today – he had prayed to God, believing who Jesus was but did not ask for forgiveness of sins. Why today’s church can not understand repentance you got me!

I took Brayden to the local Christian bookstore last Saturday and shared with him one of the tracts and explained all about our sinfulness and God’s grace. But he still balked – and I laid off him because I didn’t want to pressure him.

I continued to pray for Brayden. Today, Brayden was reading a story in his Bible (his new Bible) and asked a question about our sinfulness. After talking about it a little bit – Brayden prayed to accept Jesus Christ. I am on cloud nine – and scared him a little by crying. But it as a good cry!

God is good – all the time!
